The Lord Jesus said that His disciples would do the works that he did. For us to do the works that He did then we must have the power that He did.
Luke 3:22And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
Luke 4:1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
Luke 4:2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
Luke 4:13And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
Luke 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
The works that Jesus did, were done in and by the Holy Spirit; which indwelt Him.
Notice: John 14:10
Act 10:38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Jesus Christ retained His Godhead but never used it in His earthly ministry. Everything He did was done as a man anointed by the Holy Spirit. If His works were done by His own power (as God the Son) then how could we do the works that He did?
John 3:34 For he whom God
hath sent speaketh the words of God: for
Jesus Christ had the fullness of the Holy Spirit, as He walked the earth.
It is this fullness that He flows through His body the church, as He wills
