Building on Sand

Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Mat 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

A Christian who hears and practices the teachings of the Lord Jesus is compared to a man building a house on a rock. A Christian who is a doer of God's word, is a Christian that is not moved by every thing that comes along whether it be adversity or the latest fad.

It is when we practice the principles of God's word that it becomes a part of who we are.

God's word begins to shape our belief system according to his truth that is revealed in Scripture.

Please notice the following:

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Many times a person will come to Christ and then fall away because they base their experience with God on their feelings etc. Feelings come and go, are up and down but God's word is unshakable and unmovable. What does God's word say about me, a Christian? What does his word say about how to raise my family. What does his word say about what is sin and what is not? What we believe and practice will dictate how we live our lives

The scripture above says not to be conformed to this world. As a Christian I cannot allow this world; Hollywood, schools, etc. to teach me what to believe.

Please notice:

Eph 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

The world is blind and in spiritual darkness, as Christians we cannot allow it to be our guide in the affairs of live.

Please notice the word of Lord Jesus:

Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

It is amazing how many Christians have built their experience with God on the sand of Satan's lies, which he promotes through the media masses of this lost world. His propaganda campaign is proclaimed through the universities, news media, TV, books, even the cartoon network.

A few examples of

Man evolved from an ape, approval of homosexuality, sex before marriage is ok as long as you use protection etc. It is apparent that many have rejected God's word as a source of truth and have adopted the view of the world, which is based on the deceit of Satan.

What does God's word say about marriage, raising children, working, love, forgiving, witchcraft, Government, where we came from, sexuality, salvation, God, etc.

Please notice:

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Let the Christian examine his or her life, are you building on sand or on a rock?
