Through it's addictive tentacles, Satan has enslaved countless people in this generation. At this present time at least in the US, pornography in its milder forms has even invaded our department store sale flyers. Once a person is bound to pornography in whatever form, he or she is drawn to more degrading things in an effort to feed the hunger of the unclean spirit of pornography. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The wreckage of many marriages can be traced to the addiction of pornography. Getting set free! Jesus Christ sets the captives free, but there are a few things that people must realize. * What does God say about it? * The excuses that people make. A. God's Word Deuteronomy 5:18. Neither shalt thou commit adultery. Proverbs 6:32. But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. Matthew 5:27-30 Ye have
heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit
adultery: Pluck it out, cut it off: get rid of things that may cause you to sin, books-TV programs Etc. One can immediately see that God says that if you look with lust then you have committed adultery in the heart. God sees the heart. Now we can see why Satan is at work promoting pornography. B. Excuses It doesn't hurt to look as long as I don't touch. Answer: The above scriptures, tell your excuse to the Lord Jesus, is He a liar? * Once, while I was driving through a carry out, to get a can of soda; I noticed that they had several of the popular pornographic magazines displayed. Because of children, they had everything covered on the magazine except the magazine title and some of the faces of the women. Immediately I sensed the Holy Spirit and as I looked into the eyes of the woman, the Lord allowed me to see with His eyes. I saw the hurt and sorrow of broken dreams, the pain of abuse and rejection. Many young girls with the dream of careers in the movies, modeling or music have fallen prey to sexual predators who seek to enlarge their bank accounts at the expense of their degradation. With empty promises of helping them to achieve their dreams they are systematically broken and crushed; once they have lost their innocence and the predator has appeased his appetite, for a price, they are lowered into the pit of pornography. So it doesn't hurt anyone? I don't lust; I just like to admire a woman's body. Answer: Then why do you look at only certain body parts? Tell it to Jesus. At a garage sale I overheard a lady say, " Oh my husband buys these magazines for the articles." The Lord knows. Pornography helps my marriage by heightening my sexual desire. Answer: Once again the above scriptures. The Lord Jesus said to look at a woman with lust, is committing adultery. ( God looks at the heart ) I have heard this excuse more then one time over the years; If a person is fantasizing about someone else while (with their husband or wife) then who are they sleeping with, in the eyes of God? If you believe that you have a problem in this area and you desire to be set free. Be willing to do the following. Repent. Be truthful with God. Lord, I have a problem with________________________ I ask that you forgive me of my sin. I accept your forgiveness and turn from_____________________________. By your help I will never do this sin again. Father in Jesus name I ask for every person who reads this and repents; that they would be set free from their problem. Good Father, thank you.
