The King   The King's Authority   People of the Kingdom   Entrance into Kingdom

Some principles of Kingdom   The Future Kingdom

* Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the promise that God gave to king David; that from David’s own body, God would raise up a king; whose throne and rule would be forever
( 2 Samuel 7:8-17 ). This promise will be fulfilled at the second coming of the Lord Jesus. The establishing of the kingdom, by the King, can be viewed in three stages.

___________________________

  1.  The King came and announced the kingdom but was rejected. ( Matthew 21:42-43 )

  2. The King declares the spiritual kingdom within us by his indwelling presence.
       ( Luke 17:21,  John 14:21-23 )

  3.  The King, at his 2nd. coming, will restore the Davidic Monarchy in himself, regather
the nation of Israel and rule the whole earth for 1000 years. ( Matthew 24:27-30
       Acts 15:14-17,  Revelation 20:1-10 )

A.  The King Foretold

2 SAMUEL 7:12   And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

ISAIAH 9:6-7   For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7.  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

B.  The King’s birth Announced

LUKE 1:30-33   And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31.  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32.  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33.  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

LUKE 2:8-11   And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

C.  The Kings Genealogy

MATTHEW 1:1  The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham... ( Luke 3:23-38 )

D.  The Kings Fulfillment of Prophesies

MICAH 5:2   But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

ISAIAH 7:14   Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

JEREMIAH 31:15   Thus saith the Lord; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

ZECHARIAH 9:9   Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

* Compare:  Genesis 3:15 with Galatians 4:4,  Hosea 11:1 with Matthew 2:14-15,  Malachi 3:1 with Luke 7:24-27,  Psalms 2:7 with Matthew 3:17,  Psalms 41:9 with Luke 22:47-48,  Zechariah 11:12 with Matthew 26:15, Isaiah 50:6 with Matthew 26:67,  Psalms 22:7 with Luke 23:35,  Psalms 22:17 with Matthew 27:35-36,  Psalms 69:21 with Matthew 27:34,  Psalms 34:20 with John 19: 32-36,  Psalms 16:10 and 49:15 with Mark 16:6-7

MARK 10:45   For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

LUKE 4:18-19   The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19.  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

ACTS 10:38   How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

HEBREWS 2:14-15   Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15.  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

F.  The King’s Rejection

  1.  His Home Town

Mark 6:3   Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses,
and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended
   at him.

Luke 4:28-29   And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled
   with wrath,
   29.  And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill
whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

  2.  Priests and Rulers

LUKE 23:18   And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:

  3.  The Jewish Nation

JOHN 1:11   He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

G.  The King’s Death

MARK 15:24-26   And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
25.  And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
26.  And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

MARK 15:45-46   And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
46.  And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.

H.  The King’s Resurrection

MATTHEW 16:21   From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

HEBREWS 9:24   For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

J.  The Kings Return

ACTS 1:11   Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

LUKE 21:27   And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

MATTHEW 24:36   But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:16   For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17.  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

REVELATION 1:7   Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

13.  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14.  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
